Empowering People, Touching Lives...

WHO WE ARE

  • Historically, SIM/ECWA started in Nigeria through Kent, Bingham and Gowans. To immortalize the names of these great men of God, the Academy at Miango and our University were named after Kent and Bingham. Today the Bank has been birthed and is now named after Gowans and the long awaited dream came to fruition.
  • Gowans Microfinance Bank Limited obtained license to operate microfinancing business from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a unit MFB on 3rd November, 2014 and the company was incorporated on 25th March, 2014 with RC No. 1180140. The main thrust of the Bank is to provide Microfinance services to its teaming members in the ECWA family, the community and indeed all over the nation.
  • The Bank was commissioned to start operations on 17th November, 2014 by the ECWA President Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Gado. It is noteworthy to mention that with the wide spread of ECWA Churches, Schools (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), Hospitals, Health Care Centre’s, Theological Colleges and Seminaries, funds will be mobilized largely from these institutions. The Bank will also reach out to the communities for funds through the microfinance services to both micro and small scale enterprises.
